Sautéed Swiss Chard

Sautéed Swiss Chard

Method

  1. Wash the chard thoroughly.
  2. Separate the white stems from the green leaves.
  3. Break the stems into pieces about 2 cm long and remove the strings.
  4. Boil the stems for 15 minutes with the cardamom seeds and bay leaf, then drain.
  5. Slice the onion.
  6. Cut the green of the leaves into strips about 1 cm wide.
  7. In a wok, heat the olive oil and add in turn: the onion, the pre-cooked stems, then the leaves.
  8. Cover and cook for 12 minutes, stirring regularly.
  9. Add the sliced garlic and pepper.
  10. Pour in half a glass of water with a few drops of soy sauce.
  11. Add a little soy cream and cook another 5 minutes, stirring often.
  12. Suggestion: pan-fried or steamed carrots go very well with this dish.
