About Ortodoxia Simplu
Ortodoxia Simplu is a personal outreach and Orthodox catechesis project. Its goal is to present the rich heritage of the Orthodox Christian faith and tradition in a clear, accessible, and welcoming way for modern seekers.
Why this site exists
Discovering the Orthodox Christian faith often brings simple, practical questions that can be difficult to find clear answers to in modern language: how to prepare to enter a church, how to pray in daily life, what the words of the services mean, or how to understand the lives of the saints and the daily Scripture readings.
This site is designed to offer reliable, short, and pedagogical guideposts to remove the initial barriers to understanding for anyone interested in Orthodoxy.
Who this site is for
This project is warmly addressed to a wide audience:
- Seekers and curious individuals interested in the historical and theological foundations of Christianity.
- Beginners and catechumens who need practical guidelines to make their first steps.
- Christians of other traditions (Catholic, Protestant) or believers of other religions (Islam) wishing to discover the Orthodox perspective without polemics or caricatures.
- Those wounded by past religious experiences, who are looking for a space of peace and listening.
- Orthodox Christians who wish to rediscover the beauty and depth of their own tradition.
What the site is not (Our role)
To use Ortodoxia Simplu with discernment, it is important to keep the following guidelines in mind:
- No official status: The Site is an independent signpost and is not the official website of any diocese, parish, or church institution.
- Does not replace community: The Site can in no way replace a local parish, where the Orthodox faith is lived out in community.
- Does not replace a priest: Reading on a screen cannot replace the living, pastoral guidance of a spiritual father (duhovnic). For personal questions, confession, or spiritual advice, we strongly urge you to speak to an Orthodox priest.
- Does not replace liturgy: The information on this site is only a signpost pointing toward real liturgical life, community prayer, and the Holy Sacraments.
