Before the angelic image and innocence, the worthy servant of our Lord, who through unwavering faith was deemed worthy to stand beside the throne of the immortal King, Pantelimon, we lift up our prayers and ask that he hear our sorrows and with the power given to him by God as a unmercenary physician, visit us quickly and remove from us bodily and spiritual illnesses, that delivered by the breastplate of his goodness, in bursts of joy we may sing to him: Rejoice, Great Martyr and healer Pantelimon

From childhood you kept your soul pure, O martyr, for your mother with great care planted in your heart faith in the sweet Jesus, which later the elder Ermolae, sprinkling it with the living water, which he himself had from the immortal King, you forsook paganism and opened wide your soul to receive Christ; for which we sing to you:

Left motherless at a young age, O saint, you were given by your father to pagan learning and to the art of healings by the power of the gods; but like an unbroken reed you remained amidst the hostile winds and found no comfort until you found the way of the true God, to whom we sing: Alleluia!

Deeply wounded by love for Christ, when coming from Ermolae you met the child bitten by a viper, then first you prayed on your knees to God, from whom salvation also came, for the child revived, the viper died, and you received baptism and partook of the Lord's body and blood; for which we praise you thus:

• Rejoice, hope of the sick that is profitable;
• Rejoice, you who know to lift up prayers to the heavens;
• Rejoice, you who pour forth wonders upon us;

Great zeal you had, O saint, to turn even your own father from the worship of idols to the Lord, but he remained pagan, until he saw the healing you gave, in the name of Christ, to a blind man, and then together with him he received baptism. Therefore receive from us praise such as this:

Like lightning the news of your goodness and wonders spread, O saint, causing the pagan teachers to worry, who immediately asked the emperor for your destruction, as one who is a partaker of Christ, and you remained steadfast in faith; for which we sing to you:

• Rejoice, you who through houses and prisons bring alms and healings to the afflicted;
• Rejoice, terror of pagan rulers;

What was precious to pagans was worthless to you; and what was worthless to them was of great value to you; for you despised the dignities and temporary riches with which you were tempted, to gain the imperishable goods from God, to whom we sing: Alleluia!

Seeing you unyielding, the emperor ordered you to be hung naked on a tree, to be torn by wild beasts and burned with torches, but the immortal King kept you untouched, to the amazement of all; and we, marvelling at this, sing:

• Rejoice, for a long-paralyzed man was healed through your gift;
• Rejoice, for paganism was put to shame;
• Rejoice, for your enemies demanded new tortures with one voice;

You gave thought to those who tormented you, O saint, and frowning in face and soul, they asked where you had such power and why the gods did not destroy you? Then they devised new torments, which you, receiving with trust in the power of God, sang: Alleluia!

Putting much lead in a cauldron and melting it under flames of fire, you were thrown into this flame with the vain hope that now it would be over with you, but you, O brave martyr, remained unharmed again, just as God had earlier kept the glorious apostle John. Therefore we sing to you:

• Rejoice, in illnesses and troubles my deliverer;

For days on end you were tortured, O saint, but these brought you greater reward and increased your gratitude, when by your torments you kindled great desire in many hearts to forsake the gods and pass over to Christ, singing to Him: Alleluia!

A stone was tied around your neck, Pantelimon, and you were thrown into the sea, but the Master of the seas made both you and the stone light and floating, for you walked on the surface of the water, coming ashore. Therefore, rejoicing and marvelling, we sing to you: Rejoice, you who do not fear tortures, O brave one;

• Rejoice, overcomer of nature's power;

You were ceaselessly tempted with worldly goods and honors, but judging them as snares on the way to heaven, you were thrown among the lions and they watched you troubled, desiring to see your body torn; but the Master of all closed the mouths of the beasts; for which we sing to you:

• Rejoice, for for innocence you were given to torments;

Seeing your strength, O saint, many from the pagans believed in Christ, for which the emperor was seized with anger, and you, Pantelimon, rejoiced for the gain of new souls, with whom we also sing to God: Alleluia!

You were also tortured on a wheel with nails, but the wheel shattered, striking many unbelievers, and thinking you a sorcerer, you glorified the priest Ermolae, your teacher. Then three soldiers accompanied you, O saint, to bring him to the emperor, who desired his end as well. Therefore for the new sacrifice being prepared through you we speak:

• Rejoice, proclaimer of the divine faith;
• Rejoice, you who face kindled angers;
• Rejoice, for you were turned on a wheel;
• Rejoice, for you are glorified by Christianity;
• Rejoice, you who were thought a sorcerer;
• Rejoice, for you showed yourself victorious with Christ;

Vain were the tortures of the pagans, O saint, for your path was straight towards Christ; therefore you were deemed worthy of the gift of healings which you pour out to all who with faith come to you with prayers and with whom you sing to God: Alleluia!

Who will not praise you, seeing you with the eyes of the mind, that you were pushed and beaten like an evildoer, to the outskirts of Nicomedia, where your beheading was decreed, and you appeared calmer and more joyful. Therefore again receive this praise:

• Rejoice, you who received blows like the Lord;
• Rejoice, for for Jesus you suffered all;
• Rejoice, for in tortures you gave glory to the Lord;
• Rejoice, for you sought the heavenly kingdom with desire;
• Rejoice, for your name was changed from Pandoleon;

• Rejoice, for by name you are all-merciful;

With pain the faithful looked upon your end, Pantelimon; for you were to them an unextinguished flame of right faith, a merciful one to the needy and a healer of the sick, but we are comforted that you have ascended to God, from where you cease not to look upon the multitude that calls upon you in prayers and, delivering it from pains, sings to God: Alleluia!

Serene in soul and gentle in countenance you received your end, passing thus into the heavenly kingdom, where you are met by the Holy Trinity and placed at His right hand, glorified by the saints and the heavenly powers; for which we bring you such praise:

Holy Great Martyr and healer, Pantelimon, to you we pour out our manifold pains, and you without delay, with the power you have from God, to whom you are our intercessor, hearing stifled sighs in the night, in the day, on a bed of suffering, in journeys, be to those who pray to you, according to each one's needs: to the troubled, a calmer; to the oppressed, a defender; to those in dangers, a deliverer; to those enveloped in sins, a protector; to the wandering, a guide; to the sick, a complete healer; to orphans, a father; to widows, a parent; to spouses, a strengthener in marriage; to those set with malice, a tamer; and strengthen us before afflictions, for we are weak and exhausted, O saint, and thus by your power, freed from our bitterness, we may pass our days in thanksgiving, singing to God: Alleluia!
