Oikos 1

The Creator of angels and men chose you from the beginning to glorify with your angelic life the name of the Holy Trinity, and casting off the care of the world, for a most radiant ray of the Sun of righteousness shining upon your life, we, beholding your most honored struggles, with humility and joy say such things as these:

  • Rejoice, the honor of the holy Church;
  • Rejoice, the mighty pillar of Paphlagonia;
  • Rejoice, the great intercessor of the desert;
  • Rejoice, guide of faith and love;

Kontakion 2

Seeing you to be holy and chosen seed, God sanctified you from your mother's womb, and showed you to be a vessel of the Holy Spirit. Directing your life towards solitude, with the holy Cross which you bore until the end of your life, you marked the great love of Christ God for us, to Whom you offer the song: Alleluia!

Oikos 2

Heavenly understanding was granted to you, Father Stelian, for from your youth you constantly meditated on things above, and distributing your wealth to the poor you found shelter in a dark cave, which, illumining with your holy prayers, you hear from us such things as these:

  • Rejoice, renowned praise of the land of Paphlagonia;
  • Rejoice, desired splendor of monastics;
  • Rejoice, flower of piety adorned by God;
  • Rejoice, radiant beauty of the Saints;
  • Rejoice, you who for the Lord Christ forsook the world;
  • Rejoice, you who dwelt in a cave;
  • Rejoice, for from youth you followed God;
  • Rejoice, for while living, you departed from the flesh;
  • Rejoice, you who until death conquered with the Cross of the Lord;
  • Rejoice, you who served Christ alone in every place and in every way;
  • Rejoice, holy Stelian, great wonderworker!

Kontakion 3

Trusting in you, you have healed us from many soul and bodily illnesses and kept us from dangers and troubles, we who pray to you. Striving towards you with tears, we ask you to bring to the throne of the Most High the prayers of those who glorify God, singing: Alleluia!

Oikos 3

Having zeal for the struggle of the monastic life and loving solitude, in a cave illumined only by the love of God you made your cell, and there you received food from an angel, ending your life well-pleasing to God in struggles, in fasting and in prayer. And we, marveling at your holy labors, bring these songs:

  • Rejoice, you who renounced perishable things;
  • Rejoice, for you were bound to the heavenly kingdom with desire of heart;
  • Rejoice, for you loved the Lord Christ with all your heart;
  • Rejoice, you who strengthened mind and heart through prayer in the Lord;

Oikos 4

Hearing and seeing your pure and holy life, Venerable Father Stelian, the whole assembly of monastics from the land of Paphlagonia marveled and vied in praising you; and we, the faithful, with faith and joy say thus:

Oikos 5

You turned the grief of mothers into joy, holy Stelian, granting them the birth of good children and raising the sick from illnesses through your prayers, for you have the dwelling of divine grace within you; therefore we, the faithful, knowing your wonderful and holy deeds, sing to you thus:

Oikos 6

Shining like a star, you scattered the darkness of unbelief, and with your sanctified name you raised many from the shadow of sin to the light of salvation; therefore you also received from the Lord the gift of working miracles. For your labors and spiritual gifts we sing to you thus:

  • Rejoice, most radiant God-seer;
  • Rejoice, most beautifully adorned dwelling of the Holy Spirit;
  • Rejoice, through whom the venerable are adorned;
  • Rejoice, through whom the faithful are strengthened;

Come, all you faithful, let us bow down in the church of the Lord and pray to the Venerable Stelian, whom, honoring with spiritual songs and with lighted lamps, let us sing thus:

(this kontakion is said three times)

Then again Oikos 1 is said

The Creator of angels and men chose you from the beginning to glorify with your angelic life the name of the Holy Trinity, and casting off the care of the world, for a most radiant ray of the Sun of righteousness shining upon your life, we, beholding your most honored struggles, with humility and joy say such things as these:

  • Rejoice, the honor of the holy Church;
  • Rejoice, the mighty pillar of Paphlagonia;
  • Rejoice, the great intercessor of the desert;
  • Rejoice, guide of faith and love;
  • Rejoice, gentle image of humility;
  • Rejoice, consolation of the faithful;
  • Rejoice, good guide of sinners;
  • Rejoice, gentle relief of the sick;
  • Rejoice, pure praise of the faithful;
  • Rejoice, calm shelter of hermits;
  • Rejoice, holy Stelian, great wonderworker!

And Kontakion 1 Beloved of Christ, wonderworker, our speedy helper, Venerable Father, glorifying God, Who sanctified you from your mother's womb, we bring you words of praise. Deliver us from all troubles, who cry to you: Rejoice, holy Stelian, great wonderworker!

After this is said this:

PRAYER

Venerable Father Stelian, supporter and guide in our prayers, conquering bodily passions and dwelling together with the angels, you unceasingly behold the glory prepared for the Saints, being filled with heavenly light. Now, living in heavenly glory and standing before the King Christ, do not forget the faithful who with boldness raise prayers and ask for your support. You who were sanctified from your mother's womb, and showed yourself a chosen vessel of the Holy Spirit, taking under your protection mothers and children, keeping them from sorrow and illness, show yourself a speedy healer of the sufferings and soul and bodily illnesses of those who praise you. You who made the desert of Paphlagonia a place of glorification of the Holy Trinity, make also from the desert of our hearts a field well-pleasing to divine grace, in which the saving lilies of faith may bloom and the sanctifying fruits of good works may multiply; protect with your prayers our families and our children, asking from the merciful God forgiveness of sins, health and salvation, that through you and together with you we may praise the holy Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
